WebSummit 2020 in Numbers
This year, Web Summit had 104,328 people, from 168 countries, who have participated in talks, exchange ideas at roundtables and masterclasses, set up meetings and network with those in their industries and beyond. There was an immense diversity of industries – there isn’t any industry left that nowadays hasn’t been impacted or reshaped by tech.
There was room for 679 talks on everything from AI to climate change to smart cities – there were 30 different topics, with 1,137 speakers. Although online-only, there was no lack of media presence – 2,229 journalists, editors and broadcasters. In the biggest technological event, special emphasis was given to “women in tech”, with the female range representing 45,8 percent of the attendees.
In these three days were also 1,145 VCs, LPs, angel investors and major funds, with whom the 2,007 startups were able to contact and create bonds.
